Why Retread?

Environmental Issues
About a billion tyres are discarded each year. Tyres are not biodegradable so most are burnt. The toxic fumes created by burning tyres is extremely hazardous to the humans, wildlife and the environment.

Retreading tyres, even once, helps to reduce the problem of discarded tyres by 50%. It also helps by saving the amount of oil needed to produce tyres – it takes about 200kg of oil to produce a new tyre and only about 40kg of oil to retread an existing tyre.

Retreading helps us to conserve our earth’s natural resources.

Economic Issues
OTR retreads are only half the cost of a new OTR tyre. Retreading is a significant cost saving solution that doesn’t compromise on tyre quality.

Studies have shown that 15% of total operating costs of fleet operators are due to tyres. This cost can be reduced by 50% through retreading, which in turn can help reduce operating costs by 8%, thus assisting in improved profitability.

In addition, most new OTR tyres are designed to be re-capped or retreaded at least once. Disposing of a new tyre after its tread has worn out means that the user has technically only utilized 50% of its value.

Retreading also helps you to overcome OTR tyre shortages in the market. The high demand and short supply means that retreading will help you to meet your tyre needs while helping you to care for the environment responsibly and economically.

Economically, operationally and environmentally, it makes sense to retread your earthmover’s tyres. So, retread your OTR tyres now!
